After the successful launch of our new café for carers here in Highfield at The Old School Smailes Lane, we are pleased to report that numbers are growing and we have regulars who turn up every Thursday. We are keen to spread the word as much as possible so that carers can access this free activity. If you or anyone you know could benefit from a break and the chance to have a cuppa and some home baked treats can you let them know that the café is open every Thursday from 10am until 1pm. Carers who come enjoy the chance to chat with other carers as well as our fully trained Carer Support Worker who is on hand to provide emotional support and practical help. The café is in our hall which is a welcoming and comfortable environment. The café is free of charge but we always welcome donations. While they’re enjoying a cuppa carers can pick up information regarding benefits, accessing the Take a Break fund to have a short break and finding out about the other services we can offer the whole family. For further information please contact Diane Sandford or Julie Bradley on 01207 549780.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
