This service enables carers of older people to have a break from their caring role in their own homes.
We provide a safe, secure environment for people with care needs in which they can maintain their independence, reduce isolation and share social experiences with other people in the same situation as themselves.
The service operates from 11am to 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for up to ten places at each session. Transport can be arranged.
Tuesday service is for people with short term memory loss and onset dementia.
Thursday service is for people who are frail/elderly.
Our Carer Support Workers are trained to NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care. They support the person with care needs to access appropriate activities of their choice, following risk assessment, provide practical, personal and specialized care to support the people you care for, allowing you to have that much needed break. For your added security and peace of mind, all of our staff have been checked by the Disclosure and Barring system (DBS).
