The event at Gateshead Leisure Centre was definitely a success. Despite it being a cold and rainy Monday morning it was busy with plenty of people on the on the stalls and those attending the event; service users and carers as well as members of the public all turned up to see what was on offer.

Over 30 organisations from the Voluntary sector worked alongside Gateshead Council Public Health to make it possible.

Thanks also to Councillor Foy who took time out of her schedule to give the keynote speech which clearly stated what World Mental Health Day is all about.

There was also a great line-up of musicians which included Tyneside Women’s Health’s choir ‘Positive Notes’.

Special thanks to the World Mental Health Day floating volunteers in their WMHD T-shirts; they helped direct people to the various stalls and activities ensuring everyone got the most out of the day.

A huge thank you to Gateshead Leisure Centre staff and management who were so helpful from the planning stage to the day of the actual event. They all worked so hard to ensure the smooth running of the event and it all went off without a hitch!

Evaluation forms completed on the day included the following comments:
