Education support for Young Carers

Education support for Young Carers

At Carers Trust Tyne and Wear, we know balancing schoolwork and caring responsibilities can be tough.

We offer a range of resources to help young carers succeed:

  • Educational drop-ins: Our informal groups enable Young Carers in schools to form a supportive network, and receive emotional support from our staff.
  • Homework Club: Dedicate focused time to completing assignments with guidance and encouragement.
  • Study resources: Access helpful materials and online tools to enhance your learning.
  • Young Carer ID Card: This official identification helps schools understand your unique needs and provide further support.

Ready to take advantage of these resources?

Registered Young Carers can find details about drop-in sessions and homework club schedules in our newsletter or by contacting the Young Carers Team at
