Resources for Young Carers
Across the UK, there are thousands of young people who step up every day to care for a loved one who is ill, disabled, or struggling with addiction. These young carers provide vital support, taking on responsibilities that many adults wouldn’t even consider.

There are Young Carers all around us
The impact of caring on a young person’s life can be profound. It can affect their education, social life, and even their health. But despite the challenges, young carers also develop incredible skills like compassion, resilience, and responsibility.
That’s why we’re here to help.
If you’re aged between 8 and 17 and help care for someone in your family, you may be a young carer. Even if you don’t see yourself as a carer, or haven’t told anyone about your situation, we want you to know there is support available.
Here are some signs you might be a Young Carer:
- You help out at home more than most kids your age.
- You miss school or social events because you need to be home to care for someone.
- You worry about your loved one a lot.
- You feel stressed or overwhelmed trying to juggle caring with your other responsibilities.
If any of this sounds familiar, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We understand the unique challenges young carers face, and we’re here to offer social activities to help you have a break from your caring role and ensure you have time for yourself and your own well-being.
